The Dallas Stars Travel Hockey League wishes to extend its thanks and gratitude to the following volunteers who have stepped forward to assist the League in key areas:
Tanya Brewer Registrar
Jason Maurer Statistician
Todd Plott Treasurer
Registrar and Pointstreak Point of Contacts (POC): Please note that each Member Association has a single Registrar POC to address roster and registration issues with the League Registrar. Each Member Association is also to appoint a Pointstreak POC to address Pointstreak issues with the League Statistician. As in seasons past, the League would like to remind everyone that Coaches, Team Managers, and Parents are to direct any/all roster and Poinstreak communications to their Member Association Registrar POC or Poinstreak POC, as the case may be, in order that those POCs may work directly with Tanya and Jason on all such issues.
Squirt/Peewee Statistics: Individual player statistics for Squirts and Peewees will not be displayed on Pointstreak. The Board has determined that emphasis should be placed on player development at these age groups rather than individual performance. Player stats are typically viewed by recruiters and scouts at the Bantam and older levels.
League Fees: As indicated early on and as communicated during the League’s Friday 9/14 meeting with all Member Associations, the League fees will not increase from last year’s fees.
Scheduling Meeting: On Saturday 9/15 and Sunday 9/16, eighty-nine (89) DSTHL teams (one-third of which are non-DFW teams) completed the scheduling process for the season. The meetings went very well with very few issues. The Board members made note of the issues and concerns to improve the process going forward. During the meeting, each age group was advised that the Dallas teams would be required to travel twice during the season to play out-of-town teams. There were some instances, however, where this stipulation was waived due to the number of teams in a given bracket.
Contacts: Member Association Coach and Team Manager contact information will be posted on the League website shortly.
League Communications: A monthly newsletter will be provided to all Member Associations. Thanks to Kathi Singleton of the Lone Star Wolves for volunteering to assist with the communication efforts. The League Directors will also hold monthly conference calls which shall include a League Representative from each Member Association wherein feedback and input will be exchanged. A winter meeting will be held, most likely to coincide with the TAHA winter meeting, to discuss changes or improvements to the League.
Patches: Please note that the DSTHL patches for player jerseys have now been distributed to all Member Associations. The DSTHL patches may be sewn on the right upper chest area, right shoulder, or right sleeve of both the home and away jersey.
